Owning an EV in India: costs, incentives and savings

June 20, 2026 · 7 min read · Coastline VinFast

An EV is bought on the monthly number, not the sticker price. Four things move that number.

Fuel. This is the largest and most predictable saving. With zero charging cost till 2029 on the current offer, the running cost of the car drops close to the cost of insurance and tyres.

Tax and incentives. Free road tax currently applies on the VF MPV 7 and Limo Green, and the ICE-to-EV changeover benefit runs up to ₹1,30,000. Corporate buyers can add a discount of up to ₹53,000. These stack, which is why two customers buying the same car in the same week can land on very different final numbers.

Finance. Tenures of up to 7 years with leading banks are arranged in-house, and we can structure the EMI around your exchange value rather than a generic figure.

Maintenance and warranty. Three years of free maintenance covers the early ownership period, and the 10-year battery warranty plus 7-year vehicle warranty cover the part of EV ownership people worry about most.

Bring your current car's registration and your monthly running, and our team will prepare a side-by-side of what you spend today against a VF 6 or VF 7. Most of the conversation is arithmetic, not persuasion.
